Lunch and Learn: Neuromodulation for Facial Pain

Neuromodulation for facial pain uses electrical stimulation to effectively block or alter pain signals for severe, chronic facial pain when medical therapy has been ineffective. Neurosurgical interventions for this purpose involve implanted devices like spinal cord, motor cortex, deep brain and peripheral nerve stimulation offering a reversible, programmable option to manage symptoms.
